Description
Just uploading this one to put on my front page.
Full length
Here is my completed diorama of Usagi transforming in front of Mamoru from episode 34 of Sailor Moon. It is a complete scratch build. Usagi is 21.5cm if she was standing flat and Mamoru is 26cm.
This scene probably makes little sense to those that have not seen episode 34 of Sailor Moon. Usagi, really Sailor Moon, and Mamoru, really Tuxedo Mask, are both trapped in an outside warped elevator covered in vines. When it reaches the top, impending fire threathens to kill them both. Usagi believes the only way to save them is for her to transform into Sailor Moon. She has no place to hide and must transform in front of Mamoru if shes going to do it, which she does.
I first thought to do something like this right after completing my Chibiusa Henshin sculpture in September 2009, but didn’t start sculpting till March 2010. (or January 2010 since it was before my blog and my old camera had the wrong date) and just finished in May 2011. So total working time was over 1 year.
Mamoru: March 2010-Janurary 2011 (painted in May 2011)
-Sculpting material is magic sculpt (80%) and super sculpey/super sculpey firm mix (20%)
-Paint is Acrylics with Duo Aqua Shading.
Mamoru WIP:
Usagi January 2011 to May 2011
-Sculpting material is magic sculpt (98%) fixit paste(2%) pla plate for the hair strands
-Paint is acrylic blue mixed with Daler-Rowney inference color mediums and pearl medium, covered with gloss coat.
Usagi WIP
Base: Black gesso over comic book boards glued to a larger paper, clear pla plate, fixit paste, magic smooth, magic sculpt, glitter and Daler-Rowney inference color mediums.
Base WIP:
-This is a fan sculpture for my private collection; characters are from Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon

how did you do her head? I tried sculpting her and I failed.
